The Longos’ Cultural Society "Lord Byron" organised the second day of Easter from 11.00 a.m. at our village's square the standard
traditional Eastern celebration

It was a sunny day and the village green   was full of people.   Villagers and guests   came with high spirits to   take part in the easter spree.     The economis of our Cultural Society   did not allow to serve lambs for free,   the attendence of the people was big though.

The new elected president of the Longos’ Cultural Society "Lord Byron", Mrs. Aikaterini Maragkou-Mitropoulou, welcomed the guests, the priest of our parish, Dionisios Livanas, the deputy mayor, Mr. Michali Moutousi and the president of the local council, Mr. Panagiotis Koukopoulos. An eclected potpourri of greek and foreign songs encouraged the people to dance. Members of our societey offered red Easter eggs, Easter cookies and wine for free. The two dancing groups of our society with their director Mr. Masaouti astonished the audience with their performances of traditional greek dances.

There was a lottery too. The first prize - a video camera - was won by Mrs. Antonia Koukopoulou.
The second prize - a micro-stereo-system - was won by Mrs. Anna Maria Syka.

The spree lasted until 6.00 p.m. - one hour later than originally planned.
