The administrative council of the CULTURAL SOCIETY LONGOS organised in cooperation with the society "AIMODOTIS" from Patras the first DONATION OF BLOOD 2019 on Sunday, April 7, 2019. The donation took place in the the rooms of the Cultural Centre of Longos from 9.30 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. The administrative council thanks the members of our society and the inhabitants of Longos who took part in this donation, because a drop of blood may save lives.

   «AIMODOTIS»

The association of voluntary blood donors of the prefecture Achaia «AIMODOTIS» was founded in 1979 immediately after the closure of private blood banks and is the first official blood donor association with a statute in Greece. «AIMODOTIS» celebrates 40 years of its existence this year. Don't forget ... • Any person between the ages of 18 and 65 can become a blood donor. The health of every blood donor is meticulously examined. • The duration of the blood collection is only five minutes and is always performed with disposable devices. • The donor remains lying for ten minutes after blood collection and drinks a soft drink. • The body takes only ten minutes to regenerate the volume of the donated blood. After the blood donation, it is it is recommended not to smoke for an hour and not to do any heavy physical work.
