The administrative council of the CULTURAL SOCIETY LONGOS "LORD BYRON" invited the members and friends of the society to the Christmas Celebration on Sunday, December 29, 2019, from 6.00 p.m. in the rooms of the Cultural Centre Longos. The actors of the Children's Theatre Longos presented a small play and the school leavers of the year 2019 were awarded for their admission to the universities. Afterwards the choir of the cultural association provided entertainment.

The president of the CULTURAL SOCIETY LONGOS "LORD BYRON", Mr. Ierotheos Mourikis, warmly welcomed Father Christos Tsoulkas and the president of the local council, Mr. Dimitris Mitropoulos, the vice mayor, Mr. Dimitris Kalamidas, the vice mayor, Mr. Nikolaos Karaiskos and all the guests present.

Children's Theatre Longos The Children's Theatre of the CULTURAL SOCIETY LONGOS "LORD BYRON" presented under the direction of Mrs. Maria Dourou-Sollbach an arrangement of the plays "The little girl with the sulphur woods" by Hans Christian Andersen and "A Christmas Carol - A Christmas Story" by Charles Dickens. The little actors were Georgia Xydia, Marietta Michalatou, Metaxia Galani, Anna Liakopoulou, Eleni Rapi, Ioannis Sakellaropoulos, George Sakellaropoulos, Vassilios Kolokytas and Andreas Michalatos.

Awards Afterwards the 4 students of the year 2019 were honoured for their admission to the universities:     • Sotiris Alexandropoulos         Faculty of Economics, University of Patras     • Georgios Ntouros         Faculty of Education, University of Patras     • Ioannis Papadopoulos         Faculty of Law, National Kapodistrian University of Athens     • Maria Dimopoulou         Faculty of Speech Therapy, University of Patras

At the end of the event all children received a small gift ... ... and the calendar 2020 of the CULTURAL SOCIETY LONGOS - a donation for the last 15 years from Mrs. Maria Dourou-Sollbach to support the association - was sold.
