The author

The US-American playwright Neil Simon was born on July 4, 1927. He is considered one of the best comedy writers in the history of American literature. Simon has created over 30 theatre works and has written almost the same number of film scripts.

Despite the fact that Simon has been nominated for more OSCARs and TONYs than any other writer, many believe he has been underrated for most of his career as a playwright because he wrote comedies rather than dramas.

Neil Simon died on August 26, 2018.

The play

The play "Fools" by Neil Simon is a light, romantic comedy set in a hamlet in the Ukraine at the end of the 19th century, which manages to raise questions of modernity through wit.The play focuses mainly on diversity and shows that enforcement, contempt, intimidation and social discrimination do not make people more important. On the contrary, friendliness, willpower, respect and love are what make people of all ages and social levels unique.
