The Theatre Longos is a creation of the CULTURAL SOCIETY LONGOS "LORD BYRON". The first performances in the early 20ies of the last century until 1968, when the last play performed was "The Bridge of Arta".

The curtain of Longos´Theatre rose again in 2008 after the foundation of the CHILDREN's THEATRE LONGOS with the performance "The Wizard with the Colours".

In 2017, an ADULT THEATRE GROUP resumed the theatre tradition and continues it alongside the CHILDREN's THEATRE LONGOS to this day.

The author

Nikos Zoris was born in Agrinio in 1955 and grew up in Ilioupolis (Attica). He studied at the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Public Administration at the University of Athens.

Zoris worked in banking for 35 years; in the last 25 years he managed several private banks.

From a young age, Zoris showed a talent for literature, music, theatre and sports, which he has actively and passionately pursued ever since. He has published 14 books (poetry and prose). His literary works have been awarded prizes in national competitions.

In 1982 he founded the seven-member amateur music group "Zoriki Kompania", in which he participated as a musician for a decade. In recent years, he has participated in various Greek folk music groups.

As an actor and director, he has participated in the production of numerous plays with various theatre groups. His plays are performed by various groups. From time to time he has organised and participated in various artistic and social events with great success.

The play «Dating at my home» is a farcical comedy about men's marital infidelity and its causes.

Men, whatever their age, never stop behaving like children. They remain children in their thoughts, in their desires, in their enthusiasms, in their frustrations, in their frivolities, in their insecurities, in their erotic needs.

The play is about two friends, Antonis and Lefteris, who at some point begin to seek erotic adventures with other women to break the boredom and monotony they feel in their lives and in their marriage, each for different reasons.

However, they assure each other that their extramarital affairs are only recreational, and deep down they believe that it is mainly about their family.

Both are in an age crisis and are looking for self-affirmation. They seek adventure not so much for the sex, but mainly because they like the whole scene, i.e. the preparation for meeting a woman, the excitement, the flirting. The self-confidence they draw from this whole process seems to be more important to them than the carnal pleasure.

And at some point the play's protagonist, Loukas, an uptight family man and inexperienced in dealing with women, will want to take part in the erotic adventures he learns his two friends, Antonis and Lefteris, are having in order to escape a little from the nagging and jealousy of his overbearing wife, Soula.

And that's where three lovers come in, one of whom is destined for Loukas. She is the young widow Julia, who is dim-witted, naive, dreamy, talkative and curious.Hilarious situations ensue with unexpected encounters, confusions, twists, misunderstandings and revelations.
