Limeni, the port of Areopoli, is admittedly one of the most beautiful settlements of the Laconian Mani with increasing tourist development in recent years. Arriving in Limeni, one will admire the Petrobeis Palace with its four-storey tower and its arched openings, which testifies to the glamour of the era. The palace played an important role during the revolutionary and post-revolutionary periods, and the tomb and bust of the Maniati military leader Petrobey Mavromichalis can be found in the area.
