The Cathedral of Saint George . . .The Cathedral of Saint George is the first episcopal church of free Nafplio and one of the oldest churches in the city. Dating back to the 16th century, this sacred place is inextricably linked to the history of the city, where the funeral ceremonies for Palaion Patron Germanos, Dimitrios Ypsilantis and for the first governor, Ioannis Kapodistrias, took place. After his arrival in Nafplio in 1833, King Otto immediately visited this church of such importance, whose paintings are truly exceptional, especially the copy of Leornardo Da Vinci's "The Last Supper".
