The church of St. Spyridonas . . . The church of St. Spiridonas is probably the most interesting church in Nafplio, as it was at its entrance that the first Greek head of government, Ioannis Kapodistrias, was assassinated with a pistol shot in 1831; the bullet holes can still be seen in the walls of the old church.
