The KOMBOLOI-MUSEUM . . .

In April 1998, the first and still unique Komboloi-Museum in the world was founded in Nafplio by the Evagelinos couple, who have been collecting kombolois since 1958. In Alexandria, Egypt, where Mr. Evangelinos' grandfather lived, they took their first lessons and learned the "secrets" of komboloi.

In 1963, they began their long journey through the streets of Komboloi, which is still ongoing. They collect knowledge and rare old komboloi from all over the world - Hindus, Buddhists, Muslims, Catholics and Greeks - from the countries where Hellenism flourished (Central Asia, Syria, Egypt, etc.). Thus they acquired a unique collection, part of which is exhibited in the museum, from the period 1550 to 1950, consisting of solid amber, amber mustache, amber faience, black (yusuri) and red coral, ivory, bone, horn, ebony, etc.

The museum exhibits komboloi from the collection in 4 small rooms with a historical tour:
   - In room A: Hindu, Buddhist, Muslim
   - In room Β: Catholic rosaries and rosaries from monasteries
   - In rooms C and D: Greek komboloi
